100 attend TEA Eastern Division gathering at Give Kids the World 2/28/18

Mayor Clayton, a 6-foot tall rabbit who presides at Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, FL and his "bunny bride" Ms. Merry were among the 100+ people attending a Feb 28, 2018 mixer at GKTW, organized by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Eastern North American Division.

Joe Fox of Birket Engineering said, “As I walked in, I was telling friends who’d never visited how special it was – I learned more about why it was special and how deep the TEA’s and our member companies’ roots are with this place, and that makes it all the more special to me. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as Loren Barrows (Alcorn McBride), Grant Smith (AECOM) and Jeff 'JJ' Jensen (ITEC Entertainment) told their stories and talked about their past experiences and future places with the space. Pamela Landwirth (GKTW CEO) showed us why (and how) this place keeps making dreams and wishes come true.”

“We wanted to partner with Give Kids the World for a mixer that would highlight the special memories the village creates and how the themed entertainment industry makes these dreams realities," said Marissa Blake of Stantec Architecture. "We had thought the event would attract about 60 people, but due to the love of the village, registration quickly increased. Edibles catered the event and Crooked Can Brewery donated beer. The village also passed out ice cream as guests met Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry. Give Kids the World was overjoyed to be partnering with us and made sure to have CEO Pamela Landwirth present. Pamela shared the vision of the village while our TEA member company sponsors for the evening each spoke about their work within the village."

Heartfelt thanks to Give Kids the World for hosting TEA and to the event sponsors whose support made the evening possible: Alcorn McBride, AECOM and ITEC Entertainment.

TEA's relationship with Give Kids the World includes participation in, and fundraising for, the annual "Footprints from the Heart" 5k run/walk during the week of IAAPA Orlando - look for the opportunity to sign up for that event in November.
