TEA Eastern Division gathers in Nashville - Chuck Fawcett reports

What better way to visit Nashville than with a boot scootin’ good time! Fifty Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) members put on their cowboy hats in August 2019 for a night in downtown Nashville they wouldn’t forget.

The night kicked off with a tour of the historic RCA Studio B where iconic artists such as Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and many more recorded some of the biggest hits of their careers. As TEA members walked through history, they were able to see some of the original equipment of the studio, hear various music recorded, and take part in recording a song of their own.

“The studio tour was a great backdrop for a networking event,” said Mike Merz, Architect at Shaefer – an engineering company based out of Cincinnati that recently joined TEA. With five TEA Eastern North America Division Board members in attendance (Melissa Ruminot, Chance Barnes, Garrick Hansen, and Greg Senner and yours truly, Chuck Fawcett), members had the chance to network with new and influential industry members alike. “Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful in introducing me to members, and this organization seems a like a group of genuinely great people,” Merz concluded.

With Nashville’s famous “Hot Chicken” from Hattie B’s in their bellies and taste buds afire, members loaded up onto the Honky Tonk Party Express for an experience of Nashville like no other. Armed with flamingo koozies, straw hats, and glow stick jewelry, members partied their way through downtown Nashville. During the tour, a raffle was held where members won Nashville themed prizes to keep as souvenirs to show off back at the office.

As a final sign-off for the night, the Honky Tonk Party Express dropped members off at the Redneck Riviera on Nashville’s famous Broadway Street for even more fun. When reflecting on the mixer, Peter Winters, Architect at MD Architects said, “We had a blast and enjoyed making more connections.” Fellow colleague Rumbi Kawadza went on to add, “We left Nashville greatly energized and inspired.”
