TEA Connect Blog

The TEA Connect blog is an online platform for the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) to share TEA announcements, event notices and reports with the TEA membership, the industry and the public, to share a selection of relevant articles from TEA members, TEA Divisions, and TEA Committees, and to provide a gateway to other TEA resources for the themed entertainment community and for the press.

TEA to announce new Thea Awards recipients Nov 17, 2015 at IAAPA Orlando, 2:15 pm

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) will announce the new slate of TEA Thea Awards recipients Nov 17, 2015 at 2:15 pm during the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando. TEA International President Steve Birket of Birket Engineering will make the announcement from the TEA booth, #1350. A press release with a comprehensive list of projects and descriptions will be issued immediately following the announcement and posted at www.teaconnect.org.

Lionsgate and Fox plans for theme parks put TEA and TEA members in media spotlight

The mainstream media have been paying a lot of attention to film studios' plans and announcements to cross-platform their intellectual property into theme parks and attractions. Two big stories this week along those lines were about Lionsgate's plans to develop Hunger Games attractions in the US and China, and Twentieth Century Fox planning to open a theme park in 2018 in Dubai.

TEA International President Steve Birket attends Wanda Xishuangbanna grand opening

The weekend of Sept 26, 2015, Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) International President Steve Birket of Birket Engineering attended the grand opening of the Xishuangbanna International Resort Complex in Xishuangbanna, China, as a VIP guest of the Wanda Group. The Resort is built on a 5.3 sq. kilometer site and includes luxury hotels, a shopping center, a theme park, a hospital, a golf course, shopping areas, condominiums, and other facilities.

A Themed Entertainment tour of Vancouver - Nathan Jones of Vekoma reports

Colleagues and industry leaders met on Canadian soil for The Vancouver Experience with the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) for a jam-packed educational excursion organized by TEA's Western North America Division on August 27, 2015. This type of professional development event is known as a TEA SATE Academy Day and it was a great success in terms of quality, content and participation. Guests arrived from Germany, Netherlands, Taiwan, across Canada and the USA to learn more about the talented people, companies, and facilities located in the Northwest and showcased in this gathering.

First two SATE '15 videos now available to view

These two videos taken by Christopher Chien for the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) show aspects of the SATE '15 conference, Sept 17-18 in Pittsburgh. The first video contains select highlights and testimonials from the 2-day conference. The second provides a look at TEA GibGab, a speed-networking events that allows TEA NextGen members a chance to connect professionally with potential employers.

Arielle Rassel named as new TEA NextGen Committee Chair, succeeding Clara Rice

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) announced during its annual SATE conference (Sept 17-18) that Arielle Rassel would step up to chair the TEA NextGen Committee. Arielle Rassel is Associate Production Designer for Universal Creative. She will succeed outgoing chair Clara Rice, Director of Digital Engagement and Media Relations, Jack Rouse Associates.
