Island of Democracy and Freedom will be exemplary to the world

Outdoor Factory, one of the leading companies in the theme park, museum, city architecture design and implementation business, has carried out important works for the Island of Democracy and Freedom museum. On the Island of Democracy and Freedom, which was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and MHP President Devlet Bahceli, Outdoor Factory has created exhibition areas by blending the worlds modern museum understanding with Turkish Culture.

Outdoor Factory Managing Partner Suphi Aydiner, stated that, “We had realized designs over 100 installations, monuments, multimedia content, exhibition areas, Adnan Menderes, Fatin Rustu Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan's animatronic sculptures and replicas of military vehicles in the museum and have implemented a museum that will be exemplary to the world”.

Island of Democracy and Freedom started as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s initiative and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges project, Outdoor Factory Designer Partner Sinan Turaman and his team, who completed the museum, landscape and monumental design works of Democracy and Freedoms Island, evaluated numerous documents, letters and pictures with journalist Ozay Sendir. The company has designed and implemented the museum, which consists of 13 halls within an area of ​​2,236 square meters, where democracy movements that took place from the Ottoman period until today. Outdoor Factory has designed and produced content studies with modern approaches and today's technologies, the design and application of the diorama scenes, replicas of military vehicles of the period, the holograms, technological equipment and contents with touch screens.



Suphi Aydiner, Managing Partner of Outdoor Factory, mentioned that the museum, monuments and designs for the transformation in Yassıada, which stands out as an exile and persecution from the Byzantine period to 1960 are extremely impressive and animated designs, take the visitors live that period. Suphi Aydiner said, “After the 1960 coup, we realized the 795-square-meter Officer's Dormitory where Adnan Menderes stayed in Yassıada, on 17 February 1959, the parts of the plane crash and also the parts of the gallows on İmralı Island.”


Suphi Aydiner, who reminded that they are doing the landscaping works of 66 thousand 952 square meters in the area of ​​103 thousand 757 square meters of the "Island of Democracy and Freedom", he shared the following information: Within these installations, we completed the suitcase of 592 defendants, unwritten letters, thinking hands, period radio, lighting and thematic rest units and animatronic sculptures in a short period of 18 months and made them ready for opening. We closely follow technological developments in the industry. In this context, we have created special artistic exhibition areas by blending the world modern museum understanding with our own culture. We will not leave this discipline in the museums we will build from now on. With an interactive approach that physically incorporates visitors into the museum, they can feel what happened at that time; we enable them to experience the moment in the most intense way. We will continue to work with this approach in the coming period.”

From Europe to the Middle East, Africa, Outdoor Factory operates in many different regions designing and building turn-key theme parks, performing museums and monumental projects with offices and new office openings in Turkey, Germany, Italy, America and Qatar.
