Christie opens its doors for a very special TEA event in Jan 2020 - Tracy Balsz reports

Christie Digital kicked off the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Western Division’s 2020 event season with a behind-the-scenes gathering in the new showroom of their company headquarters in Cypress, CA (in the Los Angeles metro area) on January 9.

Christie is a valued TEA Global Partner and a specialist in cinema technology and audiovisual solutions. Nearly 100 people made the excursion to experience the company's latest, including such products as Christie® Microtiles LED, Christie 4K40-RGB series pure laser projectors and a new product named to receive a Thea Award for technology at the TEA Thea Awards Gala on April 18 this year, the Christie Eclipse 4K RGB pure laser projector celebrated for true HDR imagery, 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a color gamut approaching full Rec. 2020 / Rec. 2100. (The Christie Eclipse will also be showcased in a technology session at the 2020 TEA Summit Thea Case Studies Day, April 17.)

A high point of the evening was the privilege to witness the Christie Eclipse in a theater setting screening 20 minutes of "Worlds Beyond Earth," the new show produced and recently released by the Hayden Planetarium to make the most of its new fulldome system featuring Christie Eclipse projectors.

Another exciting and creatively inspiring demonstration was a unique projection mapping display that allows the viewer to see four different worlds within one display.

Drinks and food were provided and guests mingled and schmoozed into the evening. Christie sales reps from all across the country were in full force to talk and walk guests through all the experiences. It’s not often that one can see all of these great products in one room, in company with one's peers from the attractions industry; access to events such as these is one of the benefits of being a TEA member, and Christie's active partnership with our association is a win-win.
