Matt Barton, CEO and managing director of 7thSense Design, was named on 15 November 2017 as the new President of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Europe and Middle East (EME) Division.

The announcement made during the annual TEA Members Meeting, held during the 2017 IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, comes a year after Matt joined the TEA EME Division board.

“‘I’m honored to be serving as President for the TEA EME Division – our members are incredibly creative, forward-thinking, innovative individuals and organisations and I look forward to being a continued part of developing an association that’s engaged with our specialist industry,” says Matt.

Prior to joining 7thSense, Matt honed his skills working on display systems in the flight simulation industry in project and product management roles.

Outside of his professional life, Matt is a leader of a Scout Group for young people with disabilities based in Sussex UK (2nd Chailey). Having been involved with the group for most of his life, he has witnessed many changes in the way people with disabilities are integrated into society and welcomed into a global organisation like Scouting. As an active group, 2nd Chailey have visited a number of theme parks and visitor attractions over the years and Matt has seen first hand examples of inclusion and exclusion alike.

Matt hopes to use his technology background and TEA connections to look for opportunities to promote the use of innovations available in the industry to enhance the visitor experience for all and to create fully inclusive experiences.

Matt Barton ran in the annual 5k race to benefit Give Kids the World during IAAPA Orlando 2017,
as a member of Team TEA.
