TEA tours Museum of the Bible: Trent Oliver reports

Washington, DC, March 2019 -- The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Eastern North America Division organized a behind-the-scenes tour at the Museum of the Bible, an extensive, high-end facility that opened in 2018.

Whether you view the Bible as the most-read book in the world, or the foundation of faith, The Museum of the Bible (MOTB) offers eight floors and 430,000 square feet of education and exploration for all who enter.

MOTB aims to be among the most technologically advanced and engaging museums in the world, showcasing rare and fascinating artifacts spanning 3,500 years of history. Three of the floors contain permanent exhibits focusing on the history and impact of the Bible. “MOTB has a powerful technology ecosystem that utilizes the latest technologies, like virtual reality (VR), mobile device content tours, touch screens and projection mapping. A fantastic way to engage and retain during your visit,” said my colleague, George Astacio Jr., Vice President of Business Development, Blue Telescope.

Many thanks to our excellent tour guide, Ryan Smith. Participants in the tour also enjoyed conversations with TEA members whose companies were a part of the creation of the museum, peppering them with questions throughout the evening.

Following our exploration of the museum, we sprinted through the torrential downpour to nearby CityBar for a mixer and networking.

TechnoMedia Solutions and Available Light provided sponsorship support to the event, and both companies were involved in the museum's creation. Blue Telescope was also a sponsor. Dan Moalli of TechnoMedia said, “It is always great fun to meet new colleagues and catch up with longtime industry friends. It was an honor to share a project that we toiled on for so many years."

Some 20 people attended this gathering. In addition to the sponsors, companies represented among the attendees included upLIGHT, HealyKohler, Mode Studios, 7thSense Design, Cortina Productions, 1602 Group, Electrosonic, 4Wall and National Children’s Museum.

Thanks to all who attended! The TEA Eastern North America Division actively organizes a full calendar of events. We hope to see you at the next one.

Many thanks to Trent Oliver of Blue Telescope, who provided the story and photos to document this event. She is a member of the TEA Eastern North America Division Board of Directors. More TEA Events can be found at this link.
