130 attend TEA mixer celebrating opening of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, 26 July 2018 - The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) held a mixer at IRIS, located in the Yas Island Marina to celebrate the opening of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi (WBWAD), just one day after the public opening of this major, brand-new, indoor theme park.

Yas Island is the UAE leisure district developed by WBWAD founder Miral. It is already home to such noted attractions as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld and the Formula 1 Yas Marina Circuit.

The mixer was also an industry congratulations to WBWAD operator Farah Experiences.

Members of TEA were there in Abu Dhabi to toast the success of a project many had been involved in personally. The gathering, organized by the TEA Europe & Middle East Division (TEA EME), was poignant because a significant number of TEA member companies and individuals from around the globe played instrumental roles in creating Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, from the very first concept more than 10 years ago until completion.

Dave Cobb of Thinkwell Group took the microphone to welcome the guests and deliver a warm introduction to a very special VIP: Mr. Bugs Bunny himself, who then strode exuberantly into the room to greet and pose for photos with delighted attendees. This introductory skit with Bugs and the ensuing photo opportunity went flawlessly thanks to the efforts, skill, professional dedication and enthusiasm of all involved, including Chuck Fawcett and his team at Animax who worked with the Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi entertainment department to offer this great surprise.

TEA would like to give a special thank-you to the generous sponsors of this mixer, whose contributions were essential to the quality of the event. The premium sponsors were Animax Designs Inc., Brogent Technologies Inc. and Thinkwell Group, with support sponsors Electrosonic, Inc. and Integrated Technical Production Services LLC (ITPS).

Attendance at the mixer was robust, numbering more than 130. IRIS provided a delicious spread of food for dinner as well as a flow of effervescent beverages.

Warner Bros. Movie World Abu Dhabi consolidates Yas Island's themed entertainment offering. The industry will be watching with interest to see what impact it has on the wider UAE attractions scene. It's certainly great to know that TEA members played their part in creating such a spectacular project.

Thank you to all the participants: organizers, TEA leaders, volunteers, sponsors, attendees and more. It was a resounding success because of you.
