Hotopp hosts 70 industry members at Seattle gathering in August 2018

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) community gathered August 30, 2018 in the Pacific Northwest to discuss creative culture in the attractions industry.

This TEA Western North America Division event was hosted by the Seattle branch of Hotopp, and drew some 70 people.

Attendees hailed from far and wide.

In addition to a solid representation from the Seattle area that included architects, fabricators, designers, composers and performers, the event drew people from Los Angeles, Vancouver and Las Vegas, and as far away as Orlando and Cincinnati.

TEA member companies represented included Color Reflections, Vizir Productions, Electrosonic, Christie, BRPH, Portico Group, WhiteWater and Iconic Sound and Music.

Guests shared industry stories, discussed common goals, and focused around building relational partnerships. Conversations developed around creating a culture of trust and respect, while supporting each other’s needs as the industry grows.

Growth - as an industry, within companies and on the individual level - is a core value of Hotopp and we were honored to host this gathering and support people coming together to grow in their industry relationships.

A special thanks to Shannon Martin (Color Reflections) and Ian Klein (Vizir Productions) for their work organizing the event.

-- Report by Hector Caiazza, Hotopp Principal Director - Seattle

The next TEA mixer in Seattle is scheduled for Sept. 26, 2018, during the AZA conference.

Experience Design: Themed Entertainment Association NextGen members undertake a creative exercise in Europe

The NextGen Initiative of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) brings students and recent graduates into the association to help acquaint them with the international attractions industry and build careers. Working with TEA leadership, TEA NextGen members within the TEA EME Division recently took a bold, hands-on approach and formed a team to develop a creative concept for a fictitious theme park. Appropriately, the idea for this mock project exercise emerged during a discussion at TEA SATE, the Association's signature conference on Experience Design.
