Macau: TEA goes backstage at City of Dreams and Studio City Macau

On 11 August 2018, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) welcomed about 20 industry members to Macau for a series of behind-the-scenes experiences at the City of Dreams and Studio City Macau.

The gathering was organized by the TEA Asia Pacific Division and was the first such event in Macau.

At City of Dreams, participants enjoyed The House of Dancing Water - a spectacular multimedia show recognized with a TEA Thea Award in 2012 - as well as the House of Dancing Water Explorer Tour (the backstage tour).

At Studio City Macau, participants experienced the Batman Dark Flight ride, the Golden Reel figure-8 observation wheel, the WB Fun Zone (FEC) and toured the Studio City Event Center.

Later, participants met for dinner at Tapas in the SoHo area of City of Dreams, saw the Diamond Lobby Show and enjoyed refreshments at a mixer at The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge.

Many thanks to sponsors Christie and Kraftwerk for their invaluable support of this event.

Extra special thanks to Shaunessy Quinn, associate member of the TEA Asia Pacific Division Board, who worked tirelessly as event chair to make this gathering into a successful reality.

Thanks also to the event hosts - and to the TEA members, leaders, volunteers, staff and participants who helped make it happen.

The TEA Asia Pacific Division hopes to schedule more events in Macau in the near future, and we hope you will join us.

Experience Design: Themed Entertainment Association NextGen members undertake a creative exercise in Europe

The NextGen Initiative of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) brings students and recent graduates into the association to help acquaint them with the international attractions industry and build careers. Working with TEA leadership, TEA NextGen members within the TEA EME Division recently took a bold, hands-on approach and formed a team to develop a creative concept for a fictitious theme park. Appropriately, the idea for this mock project exercise emerged during a discussion at TEA SATE, the Association's signature conference on Experience Design.
