TEA members enjoy an evening with Disney Parks Live Entertainment in Orlando, Feb 2018

Members of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) were treated to a special behind-the-scenes event with Disney Parks Live Entertainment and the TEA Eastern North America Division, in Orlando on 13 February 2018.

This event - which was open exclusively to TEA members - featured Magic Kingdom's new Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular. The event was completely full at 147 attendees.

Members checked In at the Magic Kingdom, then mingled at a networking reception, followed by the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After presentations. The evening culminated with a viewing of Happily Ever After.

One of the attendees was Joe Fox of Birket Engineering. Joe said, “This was one of the best produced TEA events I’ve attended; Disney really gave us a backstage glimpse of how their entertainment spectaculars come to life and how many people it takes to make those dreams a reality.”

Also present was Garrick Hansen of exp, who said, “The TEA has always found a way to provide members with unprecedented access to the world’s greatest attractions and the behind-the-scenes tour of the Magic Kingdom's new Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular was an outstanding example.”

Many thanks to everyone who helped make this event a reality.

Experience Design: Themed Entertainment Association NextGen members undertake a creative exercise in Europe

The NextGen Initiative of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) brings students and recent graduates into the association to help acquaint them with the international attractions industry and build careers. Working with TEA leadership, TEA NextGen members within the TEA EME Division recently took a bold, hands-on approach and formed a team to develop a creative concept for a fictitious theme park. Appropriately, the idea for this mock project exercise emerged during a discussion at TEA SATE, the Association's signature conference on Experience Design.
