TEA Celebrates its 20th Anniversary Year

The Mission

The TEA 20th Anniversary provides a unique opportunity for the Association to energize its brand, engage its members and affirm its ongoing and valuable role in an evolving industry for the next 20 years.

A key part of this mission is to identify, support and encourage the “next generation” of industry leaders through an ongoing and multifaceted “mentoring initiative” to be   launched at IAAPA 2011

A community of colleagues

The TEA evolved from a core group of business owners and independent contractors who banded together to increase their viability in a challenging and competitive business environment. It gave rise to a culture of strong professional and personal relationships with shared common values, dedicated to the mutual benefit of its members.

With today’s business climate in a similar state, membership in this community can make substantial contributions to the success of any member who takes advantage of what the “community” has to offer. TEA members inhabit common ground – a place where members can work together to shape an environment in which they can thrive - and support each other in an atmosphere of trust and integrity.

TEA20 Planning Committee

Led by a committee of the TEA’s Past Presidents, an overall plan has been developed to mark the Association’s 20th Anniversary, beginning at IAAPA in November and culminating at the Thea Awards in March 2012. Yearlong activities will include the entire TEA international community.  Together, we will honor our past, and celebrate the future of our industry.

The TEA20 Committee is working closely with the International Board, Division leadership, the TEA office staff, and many TEA Committees, such as Marketing & Branding, Academic, THEA Nominations, and the Thea Awards producer to insure a smooth integration of all anniversary plans and programs.  Sponsorship is being coordinated with the TEA’s Executive Director and the IB Executive Committee so that there no conflicts with the Associations ongoing sponsor programs and solicitations.

The recently formed TEA Foundation will receive 10% of all funds raised, which will go to support industry education and outreach programs.  A check will be presented to the Foundation at the 2012 THEA Awards Gala.

Sponsorship Participation

Many of the anniversary programs for members are made possible through the generous support of $7,500 Diamond Sponsors. They include:  Walt Disney Imagineering, Edwards Technologies, Garner-Holt, Jack Rouse Associates, Nassal, Technifex, PGAV, Thinkwell and Utopia.
