Types of Membership
Membership in TEA is open to individuals, companies, and organization who provide unique and/or custom designs, products, and services to the themed entertainment, restaurant, retail, leisure, and recreation industries.
Which Member Category Is Right For Me?
Below is a list of categories that applicants can choose from. Most members fall into the Standard or Associate Category.
- Standard: Firms or individuals that are actively involved in the business of creating compelling places and experiences, including the planning, design, development, construction, creation of content or any other activity required to “do the work”. Dues are based on the number of employees in the company.
- Associate: Firms or individuals interested or involved with compelling places and experiences but do not qualify as Standard Members. Dues are based on the number of employees in the company.
- Individual Associate: (This is not for individuals working within any company*)Individual (typically a person in transition or seeking work as an individual only) with specific skills that support the creation of compelling places and experiences. May not represent a company in any TEA communications and information. This category is for personal benefits and promotion only. This category is mostly for contractors, not individuals who own a company of one or more and has limited member benefits including the inability to receive RFPs.
- Academic: Individuals currently working as faculty or staff or registered as full time students at a university or technical school program emphasizing any of the skill sets required for the creation of compelling places and experiences. There is also an Academic Group Discount Membership category for 10 or more faculty and students.
- Non-Profit Institution:Non-Profit organizations that own or operate compelling places and experiences (such as museums, zoos, aquariums, science centers) and academic programs.
*Individuals working within a TEA Member company may join as an Individual for a secondary tier of membership
