Fall Season Networking at LA’s All Season Brewing

On a brisk November evening in Los Angeles, Western North America Themed Entertainment Association members gathered in-person for the first time in a long while at All Season Brewing in the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles. Built out of a gorgeously restored mid-century modern Firestone tire shop, All Season Brewing served up cold drinks and hot tacos, and allowed for plenty of covered outdoor space for members to get together and catch up.

The cool lights of the brewery illuminated the smiles of over 150 Western division members, new and old, as they shook hands (or fist-bumped) and shared conversation. Though many of our members see each other on computer screens regularly, the IRL experience has been sorely missed and this chance to reconnect has been much-needed.  Technology has allowed us to connect with colleagues quickly, yet there is something fulfilling about being able to walk someone over and introduce them in-person.

Many members will be heading out of town for the first time in a while to IAAPA in Orlando this month, and this event allowed for those that won’t be traveling to hang out with a beer, some nachos, and Skee-ball before heading into the holiday season.

While Los Angeles has a recent indoor vaccine mandate, the brewery managed the check at the door where members could show their physical or digital proof of vaccination.  Additionally, thank you to Kourtney Day and Brett Jackson from the Western Division Events Committee for putting this together, and to all the volunteers who helped with checkin and set up at the venue.

There was indeed an air of optimism, since our industry and our community has weathered the COVID-19 pandemic personally and professionally, this was a much-needed night out with peers to chat and laugh together.
