Biography

Charlie Jicha  (Scenic Design) is a first year MFA Scenic Designer. He attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida for his degree in Theatre Arts, with and emphasis in Scenic Design and Scenic Art. Upon graduation Charlie began work at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Scenic Shop located in Walt Disney World. Disney Credits: Refurbishment of Test Track (Attraction located in Walt Disney World’s Epcot), Captain Jack Sparrow Experience Mural (Located in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios), Captain Hook Topiary Costume For Flower and Garden Festival (Located in Walt Disney World’s Epcot). Scenic Design Work: Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Annie Russell Theater), She Stoops to Conquer (Annie Russell Theater), Wicked City (Depot Theater), and The Bald Soprano (Fred Stone Theater). Charlie has also worked with the Orlando Ballet as a Scenic Charge for their Spring 2014 Season, including their production of Romeo and Juliet.


Qualifications

Artistic Skills based in many mediums including sculpture, painting, model building, furniture design, and photography. Lingual ability; Proficient in Mandarin Chinese, French, Latin, and comprehensive skills in Spanish. Cad and drafting skills in Autocad, Vectorworks, as well as sketch up modeling. Proficient in Mac and PC systems and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point. Other interests include circus skills such as tumbling and aerial silks, as well as volunteering with his therapy dog in hospitals as a therapy team.
