Carissa Baker is an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in theme parks and attractions. She has a literature and creative writing background. Carissa got her Ph.D from the Texts and Technology program at the UCF. Her current research involves ways in which theme parks tell stories and the types of stories they use or create. She has lectured to theme park design and management students at multiple universities on theming, storytelling, transmedia and cross-media storytelling, and immersive worlds. Carissa also speaks at academic conferences on theme park stories. She worked in entry-level positions at Disney and Universal on both coasts and has visited theme parks throughout the world.
