Hi there! My name is Garrett Monteiro and I'm an interactive developer with a degree in Computer Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I'm highly passionate about the themed entertainment industry, with a specific interest in how technology and interactive media can be used to push the boundaries of what location-based entertainment can offer. I specialize in using game engines like Unity and Unreal and mixed reality to create interactive installations that all ages can enjoy. I also specialize in creating ride pre-visualization tools, show control systems, and XR simulations.

As the former Vice President of the Cal Poly Amusement Park Engineers and Designers (CAPED) club, I oversaw and managed all of our club projects, as well as communication and outreach to industry contacts and other TEA NextGen clubs. In my four years as an officer and member, I participated in numerous design competitions, attended professional events such as IAAPA and TEA Summit, and overall helped foster a community of creative problem solvers ready to take on the world of themed entertainment.

Today, I run the Themed Entertainment Student Discord, a multi-disciplinary community of over 500 (and counting!) students from across the globe interested in learning about the themed entertainment industry. It's an incredible resource for students and recent graduates to network and socialize in a safe and supportive environment!

I recently completed a software engineering internship with Worldbuildr, Inc and am currently working for The Bezark Company on an unannounced project.

Thank you for your interest!
