Biography

Hi everyone! My name is Ty Bulley, I am a rising senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Leadership Studies. I am from Columbia, Connecticut, a super small town where everyone knows everyone. As a kid, I was very fortunate to experience Walt Disney World. I would see Splash Mountain, Expedition Everest, and other attractions in awe of them. I always wondered as a kid how they worked and who built them, my mom told me it was engineering! This opened a world of exploration and curiosity for myself as I want to design, create, and innovate the future of the theme park industry! This curiosity made me interested in the engineering field as it allows for you to do anything you can dream! Going into my senior year of college, I’ve learned how to turn my childhood dreams into realistic goals!

Qualifications

I have been very fortunate to be involved in my college community from multiple clubs & organizations to different leadership positions to engineering project experience. As Retention Coordinator for URI Tour Guiding, I retain the entire organization through numerous trainings, activities, and assist with long term projects. Since being a first year student, I have been a part of the Leadership Institute Program. This program allows students to gain leadership skills for themselves and others; I have been a participant, peer leader, and now a student coordinator! These opportunities have allowed me to grow into the student/professional I am today, whether that is my communication, organization, or time management skills. In the spring semester of my sophomore year, I was extremely privileged to participate in the Disney College Program. Working at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I was able to see how a fortune 500 company functions, how to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and gain knowledge in management positions. This internship has allowed me to create meaningful connections with coworkers, friends, and others in a setting where I truly see myself in the future!
