Industry-Leading Aquatics Firm Announces New Name as Martin Aquatic Design & Engineering

The 32-year-old firm specializing in aquatic feature design has announced a name change from Aquatic Design & Engineering to Martin Aquatic Design & Engineering. By attaching the name of the founding principal Ken Martin and the president and creative director Josh Martin, the firm is solidifying its family legacy in the aquatics industry.

“Designing resort pools, fountains and water features, thrilling water park amenities, and themed entertainment experiences fits a very small niche,” said Martin Aquatic’s president Josh Martin. “However, as this industry evolved, it took on the very name of our company. At the same time, my father Ken had become a leader in the aquatics space, and I can think of no better tribute to the legacy he has created than to rename the company Martin Aquatic Design & Engineering.”

Having designed nearly 2,500 projects around the globe, Martin Aquatic has established itself as one of the top players in the field when it comes to designing anything with water on a new development. The company excels in translating complex designs into buildable aquatic features based on sound and sustainable engineering practices.

“Under Josh’s leadership, our team has developed incredible capabilities for what can be done with water,” said Ken Martin. “This isn’t the same firm that I started 30 years ago. It’s not even the same firm it was two years ago.”

Martin Aquatic’s portfolio includes major theme parks and entertainment attractions, resort properties, county and municipal aquatic centers, public parks and corporate headquarters, university athletic facilities, cruise ship amenities, and record-setting water parks.

As the first introduction to the new name, Martin Aquatic will be attending the 2019 World Waterpark Association Show October 7-10 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. Team members will be on hand during the trade show at booth #730. As well, Josh Martin and studio director JT Toavs will be teaching a session on Tuesday, 10/8 from 8:45-9:45 a.m. titled “How Waterpark Thrills Can Pay Your Community Park Bills.”
