Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians announce 200-acre Experiential Development in Sevierville

The 200-acre mixed-use development will be built on land purchased by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in January for $13.5 million. OE Experiences, a Knoxville-based firm, has been retained to identify the highest and best use of the development and to seek out development partners, according to a release.

JRA-Designed Nickelodeon Playtime FEC to Open in China Q4 2020

China Leisure Development Co., (CLDC) and ViacomCBS have inked a deal to develop a Nickelodeon-themed Family Entertainment Center (FEC) in the city of Shenzhen, China. Comprising four attraction zones featuring SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as Nickelodeon branded retail and a sit-down play café, the FEC is expected to open in Q4 2020 at Shenzhen OCT Happy Harbor.

Storyland Studios Celebrates Poverty Encounter's TEA Thea

Storyland Studios, an experience design firm that helps brands connect their stories in three dimensions, congratulates Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF), a first-time recipient of the Themed Entertainment Association’s (TEA) Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement on a Limited Budget. Storyland contributed concept development and design for Poverty Encounter, a permanent exhibit, at the non-profit’s Los Angeles headquarters. The annual award brings recognition to achievement, talent and personal excellence within the themed entertainment industry.
