ETC Congratulates 27th Annual TEA Thea Award Recipients

Every year, theme parks and themed entertainment venues devise new and incredible ways to deliver thrilling experiences to delight their customers. Despite 2020’s strangeness, it was no different. The 27th Themed Entertainment Association Thea Awards honor the very best of the attractions that debuted in 2020. Once again, ETC worked with many of the recipients and is proud to celebrate them all.

“Congratulations aren’t bound by any NDA,” says ETC’s theme park guru Scott O’Donnell. “So to all our partners who have been honored with a Thea award, let me express my profound congratulations and excitement to see what you do next.”

In addition to providing fixtures and controls for several award-winning projects – details of which are bound by NDA – ETC also helped parks with their new Master Phase Loss Detector 2 (MPLD2). The MPLD2 features extensive, customizable input and output configurations and can detect an emergency situation from a multitude of triggers and send multiple control bypass output commands simultaneously. The MLPD2 contains 16 slots, and each slot can be filled by an input or output card. System designers can set it up exactly how they want it with the assurance that even if things change in the field, users can customize the MPLD2 on the job site and it will retain its UL 924 rating.

Since 1994, the Thea Awards “bring recognition to achievement, talent and personal excellence within the themed entertainment industry.” In addition to recognizing industry luminaries and classic parks, TEA gives Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement (AOA) across several categories. The awards will be celebrated with a series of Thea Awards Digital Case Studies rolling out from July - December 2021. A complete listing of 2020 Thea recipients can be found here.
