Ripley's Believe It or Not! exhibition at the Pacific Science Center

The Science of Ripley's Believe It or Not! opened earlier this month at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, Washington. It was developed by Science North and Ripley Entertainment Inc. and designed by Main Street Design.

Main Street Design's work at the Arboretum in Houston, Texas

Last year the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center' embarked on a master planning process to develop a road map for restoring and protecting their precious natural property and transform their identity into a leading nature center. They hired a nationally recognized collaborative team composed of Design Workshop, Lake/Flato Architects and Main Street Design. Last month, schematic design work began on the site design and restoration, as well as the architectural and interpretive design for the new visitor and education centers.

Princess Anne Opens the Hear My Story galleries

D J Willrich Ltd spent part of the Spring not too far away, in Portsmouth, helping to convert the Royal Navy’s Storehouse 10 into new galleries for the National Museum of the Royal Navy. The galleries were officially opened yesterday by Princess Anne. DJW’s favourite part of the exhibition, a 6 screen multi touch table has been featuring strongly in the Museum’s publicity, and it’s bound to become a public favourite.

Prince William visits newly re-opened HMS Alliance

A few of weeks after the submarine was formally re-opened, Prince William visited, in his role as the patron of the conservation appeal that raised the money for the submarine’s restoration. DJW has recently spent a number of weeks tucked into the tight space of the submarine, installing an audio system to bring the sub to life, and re-animating many of the dials and lights so that they run under show control.

100th Grey Cup Festival named 2012 Canadian Sport Event of the Year

On April 10, the 100th Grey Cup Festival was named Canadian Sport Event of the Year for 2012 by the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA). The nine-day, ten-night Festival took place in November, leading up to the CFL’s 100th championship game.   More than 300,000 people attended festival events across the city of Toronto –  from interactive zones and games, concerts, pep rallies, player appearances and more.
