Press Release - TEA EME NextGen Showcase

Are you looking to get started in the Themed Entertainment Industry? The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Europe & Middle East Division are launching a new free initiative to educate and inspire the next generation of Themed Entertainment Professionals.

The TEA NextGen Showcase offers a unique, year-long, free program including mentorship from some of the most influential people in Themed Entertainment; The judging panel currently represents the following leading figures:

Andreas Andersen (President & CEO, Liseberg)
Daniel Kerscher (Global Art Director, Europa-Park)
Pia Adlivankin (Managing Director & CEO, Linnanmaki)
Jaap den Bleker (Team Lead - Project Support, Efteling)
Amanda Thompson OBE (CEO, Blackpool Pleasure Beach)

This project will support participants in the creation of an attraction concept as part of a team with diverse skill sets. Groups will be partnered with knowledgeable industry mentors, making this an invaluable networking opportunity for young professionals looking to make
their mark and learn from the best.

This includes the opportunity to work in areas including, but not limited to, Concept Design, Engineering, Creative Writing, Architecture and Project Management.

The time commitment for the project is significant, but flexible; it has been designed to be undertaken alongside higher education or work over the course of ten months.

“Alex Korting and I initiated the first NextGen Project at SATE 2018 hoping to supplement the theoretical knowledge NextGens were gaining in education with some real world experience. The project ran a full year culminating in a presentation by the project team at SATE 2019, that could only be described as ground-breaking. Not only did participants get hands-on project experience, they also created a network of colleagues and friends that will last a lifetime. Most impressively, their commitment to the Project and experience received has also resulted in paid work for all of the participants.” -Laura Marakowits, Organiser of the 2018 NextGen Project.

“The NextGen Project really did prepare me for the real world, and I’m forever grateful.” -Ishen Wu, Participant of the 2018 NextGen Project.

To participate, you must be over 18 years of age, based in Europe, the Middle East or Africa for the majority of the program. This is an educational program intended for those new to the Themed Entertainment industry. You will be asked to provide a CV / Resume after signing up. Signups close on the 10th of June.
