175 turn out for TEA Western Division open house sponsored by RealD and Christie

Beverly Hills, California -- 175 attended a Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) Western North America Division open house event sponsored by TEA member companies RealD and Christie, and hosted at RealD’s headquarters on June 21, 2018.

Marlene Songin of RealD with Bryan Boehme of Christie

There were technical demo screenings in the RealD 3D Theatre where Tony Davis, RealD’s VP, Engineering, demonstrated three new products specifically tailored to location-based entertainment. RealD’s new “Ultimate 3D System” was paired with Christie projectors to showcase how 3D works, and to illustrate how 3D can be applied to enhance the immersive experience.

A demonstration of motion capture editing techniques used comparison footage in 2D and 3D and RealD’s TrueMotion software. This was of particular interest to media producers and VFX artists in the audience. The theatre itself featured RealD’s Ultimate Screen technology, developed as a replacement to existing silver screens.

RealD recently joined TEA and since then, Marlene Songin, VP of Cinema, has been actively reaching out to the location based entertainment community. RealD will participate and give additional demonstrations at another TEA Western Division open house scheduled for Sept 10, 2018, at Christie's new showroom in Cypress, California.
