
Production Designer
As a Production Designer- you will help support and administer the creative and production process from concept through fabrication and installation for attraction development, show sets and assigned studio projects. Candidates must have an eye for detail and strong organizational skills, ready to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.
You will leverage your creative abilities and knowledge of fabrication methods to bring a design through from concept to reality by creating drawings and models used to inform the client of creative intent, and inform our fabrication team of how to execute your designs.
You will be interfacing with other creative contributors in the studio and often be client-facing during meetings and workshops. You will provide additive creative ideas to the project team while assuming the key role of support to project team members. You will be part of the creative development process including front-end charrettes and group and individual design thinking activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design of show sets, props, and facades for attractions, events, and exhibits for themed Attractions & Experiences.
Be an active part in the creative development process of attractions and event spaces.
Develop AutoCAD & Revit sheet sets and drawing package assets for project deliverables.
Produce AutoCAD & Revit drawings; including plans, elevations, scenic show sets, props, and any other drawings required for the successful completion of the project.
Collate drawings, image references, and drawing notes into concept, schematic, preliminary, and detail design drawing packages.
Support the BMP Production Facility through the creation of shop drawings.
Specify materials, build methodology, and attachment methods of scenic designs.
Use of 3D modeling software Rhino & Revit for the purpose of building assets and
extracting drawings and information from client assets.
Creation of 3D models in Rhino & Revit as a visualization tool to communicate design, and perform spatial and sightline studies, for internal and external teams.
Work alongside the BMP team and Client RI (Responsible Individual), to collect creative direction and visual guest intent to be translated and improved during the design process.
Research ride systems, building finishes, interior finishes, and materials to add visual and experiential value to projects.
Assist in developing presentations and creative decks for client meetings.
Communicate and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other design and production team members, both internal and external to the BMP studio.
Assist in the BMP production studio on multiple concurrent projects as needed.
Travel to project sites, as needed for confirming conditions, field measurements and assisting during installations and field coordination.
Maintain confidentiality of all information.
Able to climb ladders no more than 12’ tall.
