TEA Masters
Who We Are
Proposed by the Past Presidents Council, the TEA MASTERS program was established by the TEA International Board in 2018 for the purpose of recognizing and honoring individuals who are truly “Masters of Their Craft.”
The program annually recognizes a select number of themed entertainment creators, managers, designers, writers, producers, engineers, and craftspeople who have made significant and enduring contributions to the themed entertainment industry through innovation, design, craftsmanship, technical skill, leadership, and artistry.
While this program honors individuals, its intent is also to promote awareness, public discussion, and respect for the arts and sciences that create compelling places and experiences. Through a variety of educational and outreach programs, TEA MASTERS share their knowledge while promoting dialogue between TEA members, TEA NextGen members and students, and the industry at large.
The TEA MASTERS program also emphasizes the importance of diversity in the selection process to best reflect the breadth of disciplines and talents across the worldwide themed entertainment industry. The selection of TEA MASTERS is not a judgment separating winners from losers; rather, it is an annual recognition of individuals who exemplify the highest standards of excellence and achievement in their discipline.
Each year, new TEA MASTERS are honored and celebrated through a ceremony and an educational panel at one or more of TEA’s annual SATE Conferences.

Mission
To communicate how our collective knowledge and expertise informs practice, problem-solving, and the delivery of outstanding projects within themed entertainment, to promote and support TEA’s educational initiatives, and to annually recognize and embrace the diversity of individual disciplines and crafts within the industry.

Selection Process
Each year, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) recognizes a select group of exceptional individuals from around the world whose careers in themed entertainment have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the industry. These distinguished professionals are honored for their creativity, leadership, and enduring contributions to the field. We celebrate their achievements by naming them TEA Masters of Their Craft.
Nomination & Review
- Nominations are submitted by industry peers.
- Each submission is reviewed confidentially.
- Candidates are evaluated on professional achievement, innovation, mentorship, and industry impact.
- The review process considers diversity of discipline, geography, and experience.
- Supporting materials may include resumes, project photography, portfolios, and videos.
Eligibility Criteria
- 20+ years of exceptional professional achievement.
- Recognized expertise within their discipline.
- Meaningful contribution to major themed entertainment projects.
- Commitment to mentorship and industry advancement.
- Willingness to actively participate in TEA Masters initiatives.
