Originally established as a division within Mulvey & Banani, the lighting practice was formally launched in 2004 to respond to the growing need for dedicated lighting specialists capable of integrating rapidly evolving technologies with increasingly ambitious architectural and experiential design visions. Since then, the firm has developed a reputation for delivering highly integrated lighting solutions across themed entertainment, hospitality, commercial, cultural, public realm, and destination scale environments.
Led by Vice Presidents Stephen Kaye and Alan McIntosh, the team brings together designers with backgrounds in architecture, interior design, theatre, and live production. This multidisciplinary perspective informs a collaborative and narrative driven approach where lighting is carefully woven into the architecture, landscape, media, and thematic elements of a project from the earliest stages of design development.
