Personal Bio: Salvador Anton Clavé is Distinguished Full Professor at the University Rovira i Virgili (URV) where he is the Principal Investigator of the Research Group on Territorial Analysis and Tourism Studies (GRATET). His research concentrates on the evolution of tourism destinations; visitor attractions and theme parks development; destination image, planning, policies and governance; tourism related sustainable development; visitors spatial behavior; and issues concerning ICT and tourism. He is also research director in Tourism Innovation at Eurecat-the Technology Centre of Catalonia and Honorary Senior Research Scholar at the International Institute of Tourism Studies at George Washington University. He has extensively published academic works including books, articles in top journals and book chapters that have received over 9,000 citations as for November 2024 (Google Scholar). Among his most relevant works are the books “The Global theme park industry” (CABI, 2007) and, recently co-coordinated, “Key concepts in theme parks studies” (Springer, 2023). He is the recipient of the Roy Wolfe Award from the American Association of Geographers in 2021 for his contributions to the field and discipline of tourism geography and Elected Fellow of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism
