Personal Bio: I am a graduate in Advanced Architectural Design (with Distinction) from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. Since graduating in 2022, I have been working within architectural practice for around 2 years gaining valuable experience in architectural design techniques, project delivery and operational planning across projects of various scale and typology. Additionally, I've been afforded the unique opportunity to provide both design and technical support on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and another major international sporting event due to take place in the UK in the summer of 2026. Architecture and concept design/delivery was something of a vocation for me in life as - for as long as I can remember - I've always had a vested interest and almost obsessive passion for creating dynamic spaces, new concepts, fresh ideas that always seek to raise the bar and elevate what is possible each time. Counter to that, however, is the reality that bold ambitions and ideas often require a significant degree of technical and out-the-box thinking and I very much embrace and enjoy the counter-balance between imagining what could be and pushing the limits of what can be. It's not so much a question of can it be done? But instead a question of how can it be done? I think of architectural design and concept design/delivery of any nature as a puzzle to be solved and an opportunity to change the landscape with every new evolution. Nowhere is this ideology more present and more relevant than in the leisure and tourism sector where our 21st century theme park attractions around the world are becoming more dynamic, more interactive, more sensorial and more technologically aspirational than ever thought possible. I have had the privilege of visiting many renowned parks around the world and have experienced unforgettable rides and attractions which in themselves are essays in elevating and enriching the human experience. Unfortunately, however, the outlook for many parks and attractions both globally and in my home country has looked less favourable in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current cost of living crisis. I therefore feel that the industry needs to pull together now more than ever to continue driving exciting and trailblazing change in leisure attractions and nowhere can a greater assembley of talented innovators, designers, imagineers, technicians, engineers, dreamers and aspirational thinkers be found in one place than the Themed Entertainment Association. It is for this reason that I feel it's a really exciting time to enter in to this industry and to channel all of that expertise into one common endeavour and so it is a great privilege to become a member of and hopefully an active contributor to the TEA going forward.
