Personal Bio: Hi, I'm Meilynn. I'm studying at the University of Southern California pursing a BFA in Themed Entertainment and a minor in media economics & entrepreneurship. This is my third year in the program. I initially applied to this major because of interest in museum design and immersive art experiences; but since getting to take so many interactive classes my perspective of themed entertainment grew. It has been so fascinating learning about different industries; theme parks, museums, mini golf, escape rooms, and even board games. Heading into college I heard so many people say "everyone changes their major at least once..." or "what you end up doing is usually not even that related to what you studied in undergrad", but the cool thing about studying Themed Entertainment in undergrad is that I truly have found a passion in this industry. Creating experiences that bring people together to slow down and enjoy in a world that is so hurried and busy; that's my passion. I am still yet to find my niche but I love coming up with new ideas, graphic design, program management, writing, marketing, and photography. One of my favorite classes i've taken was one where we partnered with a local Pasadena kids museum called Kidspace. We worked with their CEO and designer to create a veterinary experience. It taught me so much about the design process, understanding your audience, and working with a company.
