Personal Bio: I am currently a PhD candidate in mechanical engineering at MIT where I am a researcher in the laboratory for Biomechanics and Human Rehabilitation. My thesis topic is mechanical design for human interaction and involves the design of a lightweight assistive device to help older adults with sit-to-stand. Before my graduate studies, I worked as an engineer in the entertainment division at McLaren Engineering Group and completed a professional engineering internship Walt Disney World's Central Shops, where I spent as much time as I could in the Audio-Animatronics shop. At MIT, I have done work in the areas of mechanical design, robotics, biomechanics, and human neuromotor control, although I've tried to incorporate themed entertainment into my work wherever possible. For example, inspired by the work at Disney Research, I used trajectory optimization to simulate a flying, flipping "Stuntronics" robot as my final project in the MIT Underactuated Robotics class.
